Psalm 138

Though the Lord is exalted, he looks kindly on the lowly;
   though lofty, he sees them from afar.
Though I walk in the midst of trouble,
    you preserve my life.
You stretch out your hand against the anger of my foes;
    with your right hand you save me.
The Lord will vindicate me;
    your love, Lord, endures forever—
    do not abandon the works of your hands.

When I read the enemies psalms... I usually glance over them. It's usually just David being dramatic right? But this time I got the sense that God is warring against the enemy of sin; anything that keeps us away from Him.

The way He warred against selfish sin in the most unselfish way. How He allowed Himself to be sacrificed, showing He will not stop, until He has rescued His people.

Yes, He looks down on the lowly, those who seem swamped by their own mistakes and stupidity. The guilt-ridden, heavy laden. But He will work to kill and eliminate that enemy in all of us.

A continual work, reminding us of our need for Him, until we see Him again.

Pause on your biggest enemy. Not yourself, or someone else, but those things you see and feel that keep God away from you. They have an end date.

He does not.
