Psalm 122

I rejoiced with those who said to me,
“Let us go to the house of the Lord.”
Our feet are standing
    in your gates, Jerusalem.
Jerusalem is built like a city
    that is closely compacted together.
That is where the tribes go up—
    the tribes of the Lord—
to praise the name of the Lord
according to the statute given to Israel.

The days where worship could only happen at the temple...

Don't want to experience those. Glad we have that Holy Spirit for that.

But the ability to have reverence for the tangibility of God's presence... We don't have that enough. We're like the spoiled rich kids who complain about not getting their caviar at times. We find all sorts of things to gripe about when the Spirit of God lives in us, but we want something different. There is something amazing to God being "outside of you." You couldn't walk up to the temple in Jerusalem without feeling something.

We walk around with the Holy Spirit and rarely comment on it.

Hopefully today's pause will give you a moment to enjoy the caviar that you continually get to partake in, while others enjoyed it from a distance.

Outside the temple walls, outside the curtain, outside God's indwelling.

Jesus brought us near and it's almost like... we got spoiled.

Find a way to unspoil yourself and revel in God's presence within you today.
