Psalm 119

Well, we're at the longest chapter, in the longest book of the Bible. (Ps. 119)

Read it. It's written for you!

I think I've said this before, but I'll say it again, do you think you could take the time and write out this many lines for why you love the commands God has given us? Is that even on your mind? Do you "feel" the same passion for God's laws and decrees like David here?

Or are they a burden?

If the enemy comes to steal kill and destroy, this is the life that Jesus asks us to step into. Life to the full.

If he created us, He would know best how to live life, so here we are.

I mean the other part of this is that the law was part of the covenant that made the people "God's people" (His possession, chosen nation, people belonging to God). It was more than David saying "thanks for not letting me get food poisoning from lobster God, that's really rad" it was him saying "thanks God for keeping me from myself. Thanks for showing me a better way. Thanks for loving me enough to tell me I'm wrong."

When we read God's commands we remember the relationship He came down to have with us, not so that He could bear being around us, but so that we could live and live it to the full, being involved in something bigger than our minuscule lives in this eternal universe.

You should probably read it. Don't be too busy for Jesus 😁
