Psalm 143
The enemy pursues me,
he crushes me to the ground;
he makes me dwell in the darkness
like those long dead.
So my spirit grows faint within me;
my heart within me is dismayed.
I remember the days of long ago;
I meditate on all your works
and consider what your hands have done.
I spread out my hands to you;
I thirst for you like a parched land.
Things suck sometimes. Like a child learning to swim sometimes it seems as though God lets His hands seem far away as we learn to trust Him in the midst of struggle. It's only then we realize how desperately we do need Him.
Can't swim by ourselves. Sometimes we need to learn that so we can deepen our trust in Him. When things seem dark, it's the reminder that His arms are there that we need. That He hasn't let us drown in the past. He has been faithful. Even if it looks different than we think it should, He remains faithful.
