transition after 15 years of ministry with YFC SASKATOON

The Board of Directors of YFC Saskatoon would like to announce that we have accepted the resignation of our Executive Director, Kim Worthington, as he is stepping into pastoral ministry at his local church.

As the Board, we guard YFC’s mission: to share Jesus and His teachings with unreached youth and disciple them into the local church. YFC works hand-in-glove with the local church, through their support for YFC and its missionary staff. So although we are saddened to see Kim leave us, we celebrate with Waldheim MB Church that they are gaining Kim as their new pastor.

Kim has been in dialogue with us for some time now in his journeying through a call to pastoral ministry. As a Board, we support him 100% and pray that he, Barb and their family, will continue to have a rich and rewarding life serving our Lord in this new way.

As the Board seeks a new Executive Director, an interim leadership team will be in place. Kristin Clark, Evan Peters and Corwin Thiessen are already in positions of leadership within our growing organization. Together, they will be co-leaders of the ministry as a whole, reporting to the Board. These three leaders each bring considerable experience with YFC. We have full confidence in their ability to lead YFC’s staff and ministries, even in challenging times such as these.

We ask you to please join us in praying for all of our staff and the hundreds of young people they are discipling. Pray for creative solutions to the challenges of doing youth ministry with closed schools and social distancing requirements. Young people – as do all of us – need hope, perhaps now more than ever.

Rob Neufeld, Chair
On behalf of the Board
