We had an amazing time at our Project Serve retreat this past weekend. It was a special time of hanging out as a team, deepening our relationships, and getting spiritually prepared for the great mission that lies before us. This year we stayed close to home, and hunkered down at a local hotel. With a no cell phone rule, and a social media blackout, the students were able to have greater focus and clearer vision during the weekend. We planned and prepared, played and prayed...we also had the opportunity to serve right here at home: one group painted and did maintenance at a local Salvation Army camp, and the other team cleaned at a MCC kid's club on Appleby Dr, as well as led some activities with some neighbourhood kids.
We feel so blessed by all the prayers and generous support that has come in for the team. It is amazing to know we have a wonderful community who is backing us and standing with us. This final week will be intense, with a lot of last minute details to work out. Please pray for health and focus as we get set to leave next Tuesday.
Next Sunday the team will gather one more time to organize all the donated items that have been collected for Belize. If you have any clothing, school supplies, hygiene products or toys that you would like to send with us to Belize, please email Kristin at email@example.com.
Stay tuned to this blog as we count down the days...
