Thought the summer months there is an awesome thing that happens here in Saskatoon called the connection. The connection is strategic parternship between camps and youth groups in the city to keep students involved and connected with each other during the summer. It has been happening every tuesday night this summer with a different youth group or camp being the "host" group that organizes it. August 30 was the last connection event of the summer and YFC was hosting it. The last connection of the summer is always a big one as all the camps are finished for the summer and students haven't quite returned to school. This year was no different as 230+ students showed up that night. I had the huge honour to be the speaker for the night. It was awesome to reconnect with some faces I had not seen all summer and to see some familiar faces from Kadesh (where I had spoken earlier in the summer.) I spoke on community and the value of friendship. I encouraged the students to find a youth group to get connected with, find a mentor or small group and to make some friends with like minded goals about following God.
