One of the greatest feelings in the world is the joy that comes from a group of individuals from different walks of life coming together and accomplishing a seemingly impossible task. I am happy to be able to say I felt that joy this past week when the team of young men that I coach in the YFCHL (Youth For Christ Hockey League) won the championship.
We were not the best team in the league but everyone stepped up and played better then they had all year. I am extremely proud of the hard work, determination and grit that these guys showed. This championship will forever be something that will bond us together. I will never forget the ups and the downs of the season, the stupid laughs we shared, the ugly goals, the blood, the sweat and of course I will never forget the guys that came together to win it all. These guys will always hold a special place in my heart and I will pray for them long after they leave and move onto bigger and better things.
I am so thankful to God for the opportunities he gives me and how he is able to use the little I have to offer. God is working in the hearts of these guys, and they will forever remember our time together. This was a great season and I can't wait to come back next year to defend the crown.
