A hug a day...
So yesterday was my final chapel with the Saskatoon Blades for this season. This turned out to be difficult for me for a few reasons. It's hard to say goodbye to people you care about. I genuinely care for each and every one of the guys on the team, so knowing that I may not see those guys again is not easy for me. For the three 20 year old players this season will be their last in the WHL, others may be traded in the off-season. I suspect most will be back, but for the handful that won't, I will miss them.
Since the 20 year olds will be done in a week or so I wanted to do something nice for them. I know next weekend they will be honoured by the team at their last home game with pictures and gifts etc. So I decided to get them bibles with their names engraved on the front. I was overwhelmed by their response. The two guys whom I gave bibles to were blown away and both gave me a huge hug! This caught me off guard, though i didn't show it, I was quite emotional by how they responded.
God is good! Seeds have been planted this year I have no doubt about that now! Please pray for these guys and the Blades organization as a whole. I am so blessed to be able to serve them in this role. My cup was filled yesterday. Thank you Lord!
Below are some pics of my kids in the Blades room and a pic from when I was a kid. Always a fan of the Blades!!
