It's part of the business

One of the unfortunate aspects to being the chaplain for the Blades is players getting traded. As I build relationships with these guys and seek to make a difference in their lives, they can be here one day and gone the next. I don't like that part of the business. God has answered many prayers for me this season with the Blades. For instance, I prayed that God would lead me to one or two guys that I could make a difference in their lives. I now am meeting quite regular with a young man really seeking the Lord. I am blown away by what God is doing.

These days I get nervous when I see trade alerts on my phone. Sure enough a week ago Monday one of the players I really liked and was starting to build a relationship with was traded to a team with no chaplain (3 WHL teams out of 22 don't have chaplains). Whenever a player gets traded I send them a message wishing them well (See pic below). Please pray for these young men as their life is tougher than most people would know from an outside point of view.
