kelsea mackenzie IS PART OF PROJECT SERVE BELIZE 2017!
I am writing this letter to you to inform you about an extremely exciting opportunity that I have been given! I, along with ten other youth (grades ten to twelve) will be travelling to Belmopan, Belize on a mission’s trip through Saskatoon Youth for Christ this February of 2017. We will be in the beautiful country of Belize for twelve days, working together as a team as a part of something called Project Serve.
While we are away, we are going to be working to continue construction on a new facility for the King’s Children’s Home in Belmopan. This orphanage, currently housing over one hundred children, is the establishment that we will be partnering with, and we will be doing our best to help with the development of the land around the site. Along with the construction and physical work involved in our mission, we will be fortunate enough to spend time with the young children that live at the orphanage, providing them with as much love and affection as possible.
This trip may be life changing and a once in a lifetime opportunity for me and my team, it requires a lot of support from the community. In that spirit, I would like to invite you to be a part of it with me, through prayer, support, encouragement and/ or financial aid. Prayer will be one of the most important aspects of this trip for not only my team, but for me as an individual. I will forever be appreciative of any prayers and support that we can be provided with before, during and after our endeavours. Financially, my goal is to try and raise $1200 by the middle of December. This is only a portion of the total amount of money that I must raise by February 1st, which is $2800. Any donation, whether it is $10 or $100, $5 or $500, is so greatly appreciated and all of the money donated goes directly towards the expense of our mission. This means that if we are able to raise an amount of money above our team quota, we will be incorporating the extra money into the mission. Essentially, the more money we raise, the more we can help out. For example, we may possibly be able to buy paint for the house when it was not originally in our budget.
You can donate online easily and safely through CanadaHelps!
Donating online greatly reduces administration time and money, and you will instantly get your tax receipt. If you would prefer to write a cheque, you can make it out to Youth for Christ and mail it to 1338 Ave B North Saskatoon, SK S7L IG5. You will then receive your tax-deductible receipt at the end of the year.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this letter and becoming a part of this amazing experience with me! I sincerely hope to learn and grow in various ways from this experience through my team, the people of Belize and the work that I do while I am there. If you have any questions about the mission, please feel free to call me at (306) 321-2646.
Blessings and kind regards,
