Summertime News.

Drop-In (French Toast & BACON!!!!)
-Our attendance has dropped so far this summer to between 26-31.  This usually happens for the first few weeks of summer.  That will pick up as the summer progresses.
-The change from Tuesday to Thursday has appeared to be a smooth transition.
-New kids are coming each week.
-The activities vary with video games, board games, drawing/coloring and activities at Mayfair School yard.
-We have been able to continue to feed the kids with French toast and bacon on the menu last week.  That was a big hit with the kids.  You can never go wrong with bacon!
-We have started to open a little earlier and are working toward opening at 1:00 p.m. within the next week or two.
-Our volunteer/staff numbers have been a little low with the 2 summer interns and Leslie and I.  One of the volunteers from last fall/winter/spring, Kelly, has been coming on the odd day.
-Please consider a financial gift to help cover the cost of food over the summer.

Summer
-The summer interns have had a busy time with the Mobile Youth Centre at various locations throughout the city, the Connection on Tuesday nights and the Drop-In.
-I will be taking the boys I drive for hockey out to Redberry Camp next Sunday.  We will probably be doing  lunch first to celebrate one of their birthdays.  I am looking forward to catching up and hanging out.

GOLF TOURNAMENT
-We have changed the date of our tournament to Saturday, September 26th starting at 10:00 a.m.  The location is Greenbryre Golf and Country Club.  We will be golfing 12 holes with power cart and then having a meal at the Common Ground- Circle Drive Alliance Church.  There will be some sports memorialbilia up for auction.  It is expected to be a great time.  The cost is $150 ($75 for golf and meal plus $75 in donations).  Please let me know as soon as possible if you want to join us.

Prayer Requests
-Please pray for money for my support account and the Summer Drop-In Program for feeding the kids.
-Please continue to pray for our health.
-Summer is difficult for kids with time on their hands and in some cases, no food to eat.  Please pray for the kids in our programs.
