ashley power IS PART OF PROJECT SERVE BELIZE 2017!

Dear Family and Friends,

I am writing this letter to tell you about an amazing opportunity that has come my way through Saskatoon Youth For Christ. In February 2017 myself and ten other high school students from Saskatoon are flying down to Belmopan, Belize for twelve days as a part of a program called Project Serve.

Project Serve is a short-term missions trip for high school students in Belize put on every year by Youth For Christ. While in Belize, we will be doing a construction project at The King’s Children’s Home. The King’s Children’s Home is an orphanage just outside the capital city of Belmopan with over one hundred kids living there that we will be partnering with. We will help develop the land they live on and improve their facilities. Also, we are fortunate enough to be able to spend time playing with the children there and to give them as much love as possible in our short time with them.

This trip requires lots of support from our loved ones, which is why I would like to invite you to become part of this experience with me! Whether it be through prayer and encouragement and/or financial aid, all is greatly appreciated. Prayer is one of the most important aspects of Project Serve. I would be very grateful if you would be praying for my team and I before, during and after our trip.

Financially for this trip I need to raise $2800 total. The first $1200 by the middle of December and the remaining amount by February 1st. Any donation, even if it is $5, is greatly appreciated and will go directly to the expense of our mission. If we end up raising above our team quota, we will simply incorporate the extra money into the mission to buy things that aren’t originally in the budget (i.e. buying paint for the houses). Basically, the more we raise the more we can help out!

If you would prefer to write a cheque you can make it out to Youth for Christ and mail it to 1338 Ave B North Saskatoon, SK S7L1G5. You will then receive your tax-deductible receipt at the end of the year.

Thank you for all the support and for becoming part of this incredible journey with me. This is a trip I have wanted to go on since the sixth grade, and I feel so blessed that it is finally happening. I hope to learn many new things and grow during my time spent in Belize. If you have any questions at all, do not hesitate to call me at (306) 229-3204.

Sincerely,

Ashley Power
